Warm comfortable lodge along prisitine Lago Fagnano in Tierra del Fuego. Hostería Kaikén is in the state of Tierra del Fuego, on the shores of Fagnano lake, in the midst of beautiful ¨ńires¨ forests and surrounded by the Andes mountains. It was built in the sixties, as a point of refuge and refueling half way between Río Grande and Ushuaia, on National Route N° 3, and is very attractive for tourists due to its wonderful sights, trekking trails and salmon fishing. Closed for several years, Kaikén was totally renewed and now offers its comfortable and updated services, while it maintains its character of being the most beautiful and traditional place in the heart of Tierra del Fuego. This ¨heart of the island¨ was where the Shelk’nam natives found refuge during the winter, living in the forests and seeking food and clothing from herds of ¨guanacos¨ which still today inhabit in the area.
