Terra do Mar State Park With 309,938ha, it covers more than 80% of the territory of the city of Ubatuba. Together with the Serra da Bocaina National Park, it forms the largest group of areas remaining from the Mata Atlântica (Atlantic Jungle), sheltering a countless number of species from the original flora and fauna of Brazil. Picinguaba Nucleus It is one of the 14 nuclei in which the State Park is divided. Being this the only area of the park that reaches the sea side, it has the function of uniting the Serra do Mar State Park to the Serra da Bocaina National Park and the Cairuçu Environmental Protection Area (RJ). In this Nucleus, 250 families live from fishing, from the land and from artisan craft. Besides the fishermen village, it is possible to observe trails, waterfalls, beaches and ruins.
